vintage ladies Bestway knitting patterns

Bestway886: Great vintage ladies jumper worked in a patchwork design. During the Second World War and through the 1940's and early 1950's wool was rationed and in very short supply so odd bits were used, either left over or from unravelling old garments. This is why there was such a range of these patterns for all the family and also why boleros, vests or tank tops or waist coats were so popular as the could use these smaller quantities of wool. This one was knitted in vintage 2ply, so modern 3ply will be better to use as it is similar in thickness. To fit 32"-34" bust, for bigger size this one can be knitted in 4ply or even double knitting, just work a tension square and see how many stitches you need to an inch. 1940's
