Alice Baby doll set P61:. Great vintage baby doll layette to fit an 18 inch composition or hard plastic doll. There are instructions for ribbed undies, petticoat with pattern trim, dress, jacket bonnet and bootees, very sweet and with the classic chevron design that became very popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Sirdar produced a similar set to fit a 14 and 16 doll and Bestway produced one similar to fit and 15 inch doll, worked in a finer wool. This one is lovely and one of my composition late 1930's dolls is wearing a set I knitted recently from this pattern.

ATC-8Dolly-1+2: Great vintage doll knitting pattern from 9146. This little pattern has a dolly set comprsing of skirt, jumper and head scarf or 'jibber' knitted in fine wool, 3ply or similar, 40 cotton or silk. The other little doll has a crocheted set, for a dress and beret trimmed with fine ric-rac braid. Worked in 40 crochet cotton. This a USA hook size will be diferent, chart for hooks conversion supplied.

Baby Boy Doll Set-4: Great vintage knitting pattern for baby boy dolls jumper set. This set has instructions for a check jumper and little pants to fit a 12 inch doll, pictured on a composition doll from the 1940s. I knitted this one for my 1950 Rosebud baby boy doll with great success. Knitted in vintage 3ply or you can try modern 4ply. Colours suggest for the period are lemon and white, pink and pale green, pale blue and lemon (I knitted mine in pale yellow and blue - really retro look)

Baby Doll Set 18: Great vintage baby doll knitting pattern from 1930s. This set is to fit an 18 or 20 inch baby doll. There are instructions for dress, matinee coat, bonnet, vest, pants, petticoat, gloves and bootees with leggings and pram coat. All knittd in either a modern 3ply or 4ply depending which size. Adjust with needle size. This yet another doll pattern based on a baby pattern of the time, this size knitted on a size larger needel will actually fit a baby. Allow some extra yarn if you do this.

Bairnswear 85: Fabulous vintage dolls knitting pattern "Dolly's Woollies" 1930s and still printed into the late 40s. Delightful set of early dolls clothes.  For baby doll, dress 14.5" long, petticoat, crossover vest 5" from shoulder, pilch, and a matinee coat and bonnet. No size is given for this doll, but look as if she might be 12"-14". There is a plain dress with embroidery for dark haired doll who is 16" tall , petticoat and vest, for this doll, also another little dress which measures 12" and fits the 20" doll shown on the cover. Worked in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply for a better fit. 1940's

Bairnswear 140: Vintage dolls knitting pattern 1930s for "Dolls Woollies" dress, matinee, bonnet, vest piltch for 18"doll, plus coat, beret and dress for 14 inch doll and a lacy matinee jacket and bonnet for a16" doll   Worked in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply for better fit. Always work a tension square. All instructions clear - lovely retro look for doll or newborn or prem baby.

Bairnswear 181:Vintage dolls knitting pattern "Dolls Wool Outfits" 1940/50s. Not quite as rare as the two previous patterns but still greatly sought after. This consists of Coat, beret and shoes, jumper and shorts, jacket, leggings and pixie hood for 18" doll in vintage 3ply, try modern 4ply, I have found this knits better to the correct tension as most vintage 3ply wools were thicker than the modern 3ply. Always work a tension square.

Bairnswear 1237:  Vintage knitted doll knitting pattern 1940. This doll is knitted in vintage 3ply or try modern 4ply to get the correct tension. All her clothes are knitted separately and she measures 20.5 inches high. she has a dress, shoes, vest and pants and a coat and bonnet, she is adorable!

Bestway 26-8 Baby Doll: Great vintage doll knitting pattern from 1930s. This design is to fit 16 inch doll. There are instructions for lacy dress, jacket, bonnet, pilch, vest, bootees and petticoat. Knitted in vintage 2ply which should be okay in modern 3ply.Work a tension square. Knitting in this fine wool makes this a very pretty, dainty little set that does not over power the little doll as modern patterns tend to do.

Bestway 26-8TD: Great vintage little boy's dolls outdoor set from 1930s. There are instructions for a vest, knickers, coat, leggings and cap. Knitted in a 4ply or even a fine double knitting, always work a tension square. Pictured on felt doll, but will work just as well on a straight leg toddler doll of 16 inches.

Bestway 493-Dolly Dress Set: Great vintage baby doll knitting pattern from 1930s. This design has instructions an outfit for a 19 inch bisque headed composition body doll. There is a smocked jacket, bonnet, dress, petticoat, vest and knickers. All knitted in vintage 3ply, you could try modern 4ply wool - make the vest or knickers first for sizing, change needles if needed.

Bestway 604: One of the many stunning Bestway vintage toy knitting patterns on this site. Teddy Bear no size stated - probable 16-17" (only a guess mind you), the red riding hood outfit is to fit a 17"doll and the ball is crochet and designed as a pram toy all knitted in oddments of 3 and 4ply.

Bestway 848: Great vintage toy knitting pattern for a Peasant doll outfit for a 14" doll, Baby Panda is 15" high and Brer Rabbit is 13". 1940's pattern printed in black and white. Knitted in vintage 4ply -work a tension square to see if needles need changing.

Bestway 877: Vintage toy pattern for three military dolls from the 1940's. Soldier, sailor and airman knitted in vintage 4ply. Airman 12" high, Sailor 10" high, soldier 12". As the pattern calls for size 12 or 2.75mm needles modern 4ply will probably work.

Bestway 877LF: Great vintage MILITARY DOLLS knitting pattern with Jack Tar, sailor. The Airman and the Soldier. This leaflet is large format rather than the smaller latter editions. Knitted in 4ply and they measure 10 or 12 inches.

Bestway 880: Great vintage knitted doll knitting pattern from the wartime. A little girl doll, a clown and a jack tar. The dolls are made from folding thick wool into skeins and wrapping them in places with wool thread creating limbs and head. The clothes are then knitted to fit them in vintage 3ply or modern 4ply. They are about 7-8 inches tall.

Bestway 1527:: Vintage doll knitting pattern. To fit a 15" baby doll. 1930s. It is in vintage 3ply and only take 4oz that is about 120g. But work tension square first to see if 4ply might work better or a change of needles. Bonnet, dress, undies jacket and bootees - simply stunning.

Bestway 1578: fabulous rare vintage wartime toy pattern for knitted dolls. The dolls are simply made by folding skeins of wool then tying them in places to make arms, legs and head and the clothes are all knitted - we all did this at school in the 40's and 50's!

Bestway 1031: Great vintage baby doll knitting pattern 1930s. This little pattern is so sweet, for a little baby doll 13 inches with a 9-10 inch chest. There are instructions for easy to knit dress, jacket, bonnet, bootees and undies as shown. All worked in oddments of vintage 3ply about 100g worth for whole set. Always work a tension square and change needles if needed to get correct size.

Bestway A2233: Vintage doll knitting pattern from 1940's. Lovely layette, very rare little pattern to fit 15-16 inch doll. vest, piltch, bootees, beautiful lacy dress, jacket and bonnet. stunning when made up, one of my customers won a 1st prize at a doll fair with this on the same type of Pedigree doll shown, knitted in vintage 2ply! It works well if you use modern 3ply - so dainty. I recently made this for prem baby using modern 4ply and size larger needles. This pattern is similar to Bestway 26-8 above, just a later version.

MTW49-10-22TW: Great vintage knitting pattern for 6.5 inch twin dolls from 1949. These were the first little Rosebud twin dolls with pretty faces and a range of clothes to knit and sew. Briggs 810: Vintage doll knitting pattern for Kathy Kruse style dolls. No height given but dress is  12" from shoulder to hem and chest 16", so quite a large doll. Boys Jacket is 7" shoulder to hem and shorts are waist to edge is 6" (could be between 20"-24" dolls?) Knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply or knit in modern 3ply for smaller size. Stunning retro knitting pattern for collectable dolls, but easy to convert to modern dolls.

Copley 663: Vintage doll knitting pattern for outfits for twin dolls: dress knickers, jumper and shorts and vest. No size given but look as though they are 12"-13" dolls.  Dress measures 8.5"  this is a pattern from the 1920's and the doll are probably celluloid - a very thin material that dented and split easily. Try modern 4ply for a better fit to size. Always work a tension square.

Copley 1829: Lovely old vintage doll knitting pattern for baby doll. Full layette including underwear and shawl, long dress, short dress, petticoat and matinee set. Just beautiful made up! Pattern states 2ply, try modern 3ply.  to fit a 12 inch doll - it fits my little 10" Rosebud just right knitted in 3ply pure wool (modern). And a bigger Roddy 12" in 4ply.

Corticelli 68: Great vintage knitting pattern from 1950s Canada. There are instructions for a winter wardrobe of leggings, coat, bunny bonnet, ordinary bonnet, scarf, pull on hat, mittens and bootees, cardigan and pants (soakers). To fit a 14 inch doll for a smaller doll use smaller needles, for a larger doll use larger needles. Essential knitted in stocking stitch and garter stitch so very easy to make. Knitted in 4ply. Canadian needle sizes and abbreviations the same as UK and Australia. Tiny buttons are used.

Daisy Dolly: Great vintage dolly knitting pattern for complete wardrobe from 1930s. This set has instructions for pleated skirt, jumper with fair isle trim, shoes, beret, jacket, and undies. To fit as 15 inch straight legged doll, but I have made the dress for a 15 baby doll and it turned out well.  Shown on a felt doll similar to the Lenci dolls. To keep to period, the colours suggested are white undies, dress is in green bouclé and jacket and shoes in beige. The jumper and beret in blue with red fair isle, skirt and shoes in blue.

Off Out For The Day: Dolly 2069:  Great vintage doll knitting patern from late 1930s in to early 1940s. This pattern is for easy to knit in stocking stich dress, undies, coat and beret. To fit 18-21 inch doll, knitted in 3ply at 8st to the an inch on size 10 needles. Try modern 4ply on size 11s for similar sizing.
