Bestway 424: Great vintage ladies twin set knitting pattern from late 1930s. This pattern has instructions for the cardigan and the jumper shown below. Knitted in a close fitting rib that is very flattering and slimming. Yoke gives a sun-ray effect, sleeves set in and slim fitting. To fit 34 inch bust  and try a modern 4ply in a tension square. This pretty set is shown by Miss Sally Gray an English actress from the 1930s and 1940s.

The check design is flattering, knitted in vintage 3ply so should work well in modern 4ply, always work a tension square. To fit 34-35 inch bust. The jumper has a square neck and is also embroidered.

Bestway B2517L: Another fabulous vintage knitting pattern, this time in vintage 3ply so modern 4ply will probably work well, try a tension square and change needles if needed. There are instructions for the super jumper and the cardigan with a smal shawl collar. To fit 34-36 inch bust, use a thicker ply and large needles for a bigger size, but don't forget to allow more wool if you do that. As this is a finer ply you will need about 600g for the set in modern 4ply - but always allow a bit more as all yarns vary and in the past they did not give yardage (or metres per ball). remember 1oz is about 30g

Bestway A2545: Great vintage ladies cardigan jumper knitting pattern 1940s. This lovely set is in the favourite shell pattern, the jumper has the yoke worked in this pattern. To fit 32-34 and 34-36 inch chest in vintage 2ply - so work in modern 3ply and change needle size to get correct tension. Lovely deep welt.

Bestway B2558: Lovely vintage ladies twinset knitting patterns, one of my personal favourites. To fit 34-36" bust and 36-38", lovely lace panel cardigan and short sleeved jumper, the panels create a nice slimming effect. Knitted in vintage 2ply, this is modern 3ply. This design is called rose leaf and is a Shetland design.

Copleys 1524L: Fabulous ladies vintage jumper cardigan knitting pattern 1940s. To fit 34 inch bust, easy to make larger by changing ply or needles, but do allow more yarn if you do this (look on a similar double knitting one to get the amount of yarn needed then ad a ball to be on the safe side)The jumper in this twin set is stunning, but quite easy to knit a basic 4 row pattern after the V design of the welt, the sleeves can be made a little shorter if liked. Cardigan is elegant and slimming. Worked in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply.

Copleys1561: Great vintage ladies cardigan and crossover jumper knitting pattern later 1940s. this pattern has instructions for the lovely cross over jumper in a chain link design and a elegant cardigan with the same design at the shoulders. Lovely styling with shaped waist with cabling. Worked in vintage 2ply which would work out as modern 3ply, you could also try modern 4ply, but if you use this then allow a little more yarn. For suppliers of adult colours in three ply try the internet. To fit 34 inch bust.

Golden Eagle 759: Great vintage ladies twin set knitting pattern from the 1930s. This is a lovely pattern and so easy to knit with little cable panels giving detail that actually make you look slimmer. Jumper has short sleeves as shown in the inset picture. Set in sleeves, nicely tailored fitting, very smart. Knitted in a vintage 2ply that was similar to a vintage 3ply so try a modern 4ply in a tension square - wool is a funny thing!! To fit 38-40 inch bust.

Golden Eagle 884: Great vintage ladies cardigan and jumper knitting pattern. This is a super little pattern and could be made to look quite modern in the right colours. The buttons are crocheted. There is a fine cable on the sleeve and front panels. To fit 36 inch bust and vintage 3ply is recommended so try modern 4ply in a tension square.
