Sirdar 369: Great vintage ladies rib jumper from 1930s.  This lovely pattern has instructions for this figure flattering jumper with fancy rib and high neck. worked in double knitting, so knit a tension square and change needles to get the correct tension. To fit 36-38 inch bust. This is a version of twisted rib, very effective.

Sirdar 681: Great vintage ladies textured cardigan knitting pattern 1930s. This lovely cardigan design has a ribbed yoke and deep welt, with a raised design. This is a fancy cable stitch, but quite easy to work ones practiced. Short or long sleeved. To fit 34 inch bust. Knitted in a 3ply wool. Always work a tension square.

Sirdar 816L: Great vintage ladies jumper knitting pattern from early 1940s. This design is well fitting, deep rib and and easy to work check. Fitted long or short sleeves and V neck. To fit 34 inch bust and knitted in vintage 3ply that is similar to modern fine 4ply. Always work a tension square.

Sirdar 885: Great vintage ladies jumper knitting pattern early wartime around 1940. Easy to knit wide rib jumper which I remember coming back into fashion in the 1960s! To fit bust 34 inches. Figure flattering and slimming style knitted in yarn that would knit to modern 4ply. Always work a tension square.

Sirdar 992: Great vintage ladies twin set knitting pattern from the 1940s. Large format. Lovely easy pattern in vintage 3ply or modern 4ply. Always work a tension square and change needles if needed. To fit 34 inch bust. Cardigan has pockets and the rib at shoulders is in a contrast shade. Jumper has short sleeves, it is suggested that store bought shoulder pads are used to give a good finish - there are quite few knitting patterns here on my site that include instructions for making these.

Sirdar 1020: Great vintage knitting pattern for ladies dress from late 1930's. This lovely design has a lovely ribbed shaped waistline and little peter pan collar as well as puff sleeves and gentle folds to the skirt.  To fit 34 inch bust and is 37 inches long, this is adjustable - new length for austerity! Shoulder pads suggested. Collar is not knitted but a purchased or sewn one, but can easily be knitted. Knitted in a 4ply, but on large needles - always work a tension square and change needles to get correct fit. Back opening with buttons.

These early Sirdar had simply stunning designs that can no longer be seen in the knitting world. To fit 34 inch bust. Fastened at the back with 6 tiny buttons. Lovely shaping at waist.

Sirdar 1099: Great vintage knitting pattern for twin set knitting pattern from 1940s. This wartime knitting pattern is one of the little ones and is for a jumper and waistcoat twin set. The jumper is in plain stocking stitch and the square waistcoat has a colour pattern, so could be called fair isle. You could also substitute the colour for beads and make a pretty evening waistcoat. Both are knitted in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply in a tension square. To fit 34-36 inch bust.

Sirdar 1238L: Another fabulous cardigan 1940s vintage knitting pattern ladies fitted cardigan knitted in thicker wool, so it is essential to work a tension square and change needles accordingly. Try double knitting, as it was unusual at this time (just after the war) to have wool any thicker than this. You can adjust needle size to get the correct size you want. Small format. The pattern knits to 34-36 inches at the bust.

Sirdar 1247L:Vintage knitting pattern ladies twin set late 1940s. Nice slender fitting, with elegant lines. to fit 42 inch bust, nice to have these patterns in a large size. Instructions for cardigan and jumper. worked in vintage 3ply so to get this size, you may have to work in modern 4ply, a smaller size in modern 3ply or try smaller needles in 4ply. I think there are 10 buttons, but you can put on as many as you like. Small format.
