There are instructions for a pretty jumper in Vandyke lace stitch to fit 34 inch bust and is knitted in a wool that is similar to 3ply modern wool. Always work a tension square. A zip fastens at the back, but loops and tiny buttons could be used instead.

Doris-WD287: Great vintage ladies knitting pattern for jumper from 1935. This interesting neckline was new in the year 1935. The design is in a broken rib to fit 32 inch bust, knitted in 3ply, to work in a 4ply and a larger size use larger needles and allow more wool.

Dorette 14-5L: Great vintage ladies cardigan knitting pattern from 1940s. This is worked in what was called Ball pattern. Knitted in double knitting wool, quick and easy to make. To fit 36 inch bust. The 2x2 rib gives the cardigan a good fit and a change of needles gives it a nice shape.

Dulcie-WD287: Great vintage ladies jumper from 1935. This super design boasts having the latest raglan sleeve. Most garments up to this point were set in, on a yoke or dolman style. This pretty yoked jumper is to fit 35 inch bust. Original was knitted in black, grey and red. This one is in a fine wool, 3ply. Change larger needle to a smaller size for a 4ply yarn. Always work a tension square.

Faudels 118: Great vintage ladies jumper knitting pattern from 1930s. Knitted in classic fan stitch and a light weight ply. As is often the case with these early patterns there is no tenon square instructions. But work a square in the yarn that you decide to use and change needles until you get the correct number of stitches to an inch to fit 32 inch bust. But use thicker wool for larger size, but allow more wool if you do this.

Felicity 4: Great vintage ladies knitting pattern for a dress 1940s. This simple to knit dress is to fit 35-36 inch bust. Knitted in 3ply on fine needles to create a lovely fabric that is light and figure flattering. Measures 42 inches in length, adjustable. The skirt is knitted in one piece on a circular needle. It is made in one piece. A super challenge for the advanced knitter. Allow a little more wool due to different thickness of ply difference since the war. Always work a tension square.
