Bestway 66-4: This is the very height of per-war luxury! 1939 vintage knitting pattern. Angora bed jacket to fit free size women's as a bed bolero. Takes 8 half oz. balls of Fuzzy Wuzzy or less than 150g of angora. As this is no longer made vintage angora can sometimes be found, fuzzy wuzzy knitted to a modern 4ply. Bestway 66-8: Very dainty, easy to knit bed cape from 1939, for those chilly winter evenings. Save fuel and stay cosy at bedtime. This little cape has a swans-down collar that can be omitted, ruffled wide satin ribbon can be used instead. Knitted on super large needles - old imperial 1 which is 7.5mm. This gives a light delicate feel to the wool, try a 4ply as this pattern does not give a ply. The tension is 4 stitches to the inch, 6 rows to the inch on these needles, change ply or needles to obtain correct tension. Nice full size 76 inches around bottom edge. Includes bed socks.

Bestway 2016: Great vintage knitting pattern for 4 different hot water bottles including the old fashioned stone ones and a metal one. 1930's pattern. One is crochet the others are all knitted in mercerised yarn, this process gave the yarn a lustre and strength allowing it to move easily through the fingers and be knitted quickly with out fluffing up. Copley 1197: Great vintage crochet and knitting book 1930s. There are instructions for knitting plain bed socks, woolly bootees and fancy bed socks as well as the little CROCHET slippers. The slippers are worked in speed-knit wool which was a thick chunky which produced 3.5 double crochet to 1 inch. a ready made sole is recommended, but it is a simple task to make from felt, suede, old slipper soles or crochet or French knit a long strand and wrap round to make sole shape using anther slipper sole. Munrospun 5722BJ: Great vintage ladies long line bed jacket knitting pattern form 1940s. This lovely design is unusual but easy to knit. Worked in a vintage wool that would have been similar to modern 4ply, always work a tension square. Three quarter sleeves or long sleeves. To fit 34-36 inch bust.
