Bestway 604:  Vintage toy knitting patterns including a Teddy Bear, no size stated probable 16-17", only a guess mind you, the red riding hood outfit is to fit a 17"doll and the ball is crochet and designed as a pram toy all knitted in oddments of 3 and 4ply.

Bestway 3339: Great vintage knitting pattern for toys. Here are a fun group, a colour version of an earlier pattern.  There is a rabbit, teddy, cat, doll and a clown all knitted in double knitting and take just over 50gs of wool each - great for the charity bazaar or church fête or those gift boxes at Christmas. The toys measure 10.5" when stuffed. If you want smaller toys knit in a finer ply on smaller needles.

Bertie Bear Outdoor Set: Great vintage bear knitting clothes pattern. This little bear is only 6 inches tall and they were made of an a rubbery material with moveable head, arms and legs. Several magazines made a range of clothes for them. Here there are instructions for double breasted coat trousers and beret. modern 3ply can be used and these are easy to convert to for other 6 inch bears.

Bobby Bear Jumper Set: Great vintage teddy bear knitting pattern for jumper and shorts. This little set is to fit 13-14 inch bear. Knitted in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply. Colours of the day suggested scarlet and white, green and white, royal blue and white.

He is knitted in stocking stitch in a double knitting wool. His dungarees are removable. Try embroidering eyes if intended for a child instead of buttons.

F800: Teddy Bear-2: Great vintage knitting pattern for teddy bear. This little guy looks very retro, he is 15.5 inches tall. He is knitted in thick fluffy wool, try a mohair or brushed yarn. He may turn out a tad smaller if knitted in a plain yarn. He can be jointed if desired, but do use child safety joints and embroidered eyes.

Homecraft 319: Great vintage knitting pattern for teddy bear from the 1940s, 14.5 inches tall in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply to get this height - using unpicked wall as a wartime economy. Great little guy!

HN198-The Polar Bear: Great vintage knitting pattern for a little bear from 1940s. This little chap looks a bit sad, but he is easy to knit in most stitch - he measure 7 inches by 9 inches and is knitted in 4ply. Make him in white for a polar bear or brown for a traditional bruin.

Knitted in double knitting or 4ply doubled for size stated. Will turn out smaller if 3ply is used or larger if Aran wool used. Stuff firmly and embroider eyes for safety

Penelope M1307: Great knitting pattern for baby bruin an carrier. Knitted from unravelled wool. 1940s measures 7 inches with bear in sitting position. Carrier is knitted separately. Nice easy bear to make and unusual too.

Good Friends-George and Edward: Great vintage knitting pattern for a Teddy and a Golly from the early 1930s. Again there are no sizes given. George is bold and bright with a super bow at his neck and Edward is a serious rather chunky bear who can be knitted in a ready brushed yarn or if using pure wool brush afterwards. Knitted in a 4ply yarn but can be knitted in double knitting, but will take more yarn and be bigger. Pattern includes both toys to make.

WHChi-Chi Panda: Great vintage knitting pattern for super retro look panda from 1930s. This guy measures15 inches and again is knitted in a 4ply wool. although he has glass eyes, you can embroider them in stead or buy safety eyes. I do have some old glass eyes for sale if needed for a collectors toy.

Weldons17- Teddy Thomas: Fabulous little set for a very old teddy - from around 1920. This old chap is wearing a super jumper, cap and trousers knitted in 4ply, he measures 16 inches. Easy to knit as again design for 5-6 year old to knit at school. Basically knitted in squares with minor shaping.

Weldons 286: Fabulous vintage toy bear knitting pattern. BILLY BEAR is a 10" bear knitted in 4ply  and it is suggested not to use stuffing that could be used for salvage - wartime recycling! 1940's The original pattern is black and white.
