Bestway 79: Dress Set: Great vintage knitting pattern for babies dress set from 1940s. This little set ha instructions for a short and a long dress, a little jacket and over the knee bootees for extra warmth. Embroidered with little flowers, so simple to do or you could use a braid to decorate, also popular at the time. To fit 16-18 inch chest, so great for a new baby. Knitted in a vintage 3ply that will knit well in a modern 4ply, or for really new baby work in modern 3ply.

Cherie Layette: Great vintage baby knitting pattern for layette. This one is easy to knit with little mock cable. There is a bonnet and cap for either a boy or a girl and a sweet little pair of knickers are included. Try modern 4ply for size stated 3-6 months or a modern 3ply for a size smaller. Neat, with that retro look.

Cheryl Dress Set: Great vintage baby knitting pattern for dress set from 1940s. This little set is so sweet with an unusual pattern. This little set will fit 17-18 inch chest and is knitted in 3ply for that dainty new born look. The dress is 15 inches long, back and front of dress are knitted the same with little buttons at shoulders. The coat is knitted in one piece up to the arm hole shaping.

Fleur Layette:  Great vintage baby layette knitting pattern. I love these layette as you get so many garments in the one pattern for the complete set for baby. Makes a lovely gift and can be added to with other items incorporating the same design. This one is a favourite. This one is to fit 6-12 months and knitted in a fine 4ply or if kitted in a 3ply will come up a little smaller, a change of needles and ply and you have a new born baby size. There are instructions for a vest and knicker combo, beautiful dress, jacket and bonnet with bootees and mittens to complete.

Home Chat Baby Dress Trio: Great vintage baby dress knitting pattern for three little dresses for a toddler from 1937. . They are as follows, the one on the left is long sleeved with a flared skirt to fit 18 inch chest and13.5 inches long, knitted in a thicker 4ply or fine double knitting for the winter. The one on the far right with the lacy skirt is to fit a 24 inch chest and is 16 inches long and knitted in 4ply, has a sweet little collar and puff sleeves. The other one is also knitted in 4ply and to fit a 17-18 inch chest and is 15 inches long. The back and front are worked the same and ribbon ties at shoulders, the skirt has a band of colour and sweet little flowers embroidered to give it that pretty retro look.

KFB24-5 Dress Set: Great vintage baby knitting pattern for dress set from 1940s. This little set has a dress, jacket and bonnet in feather and fan stitch, one of my favourites and classic in any decade. This little dress fits 22 inch chest over underwear and has a pretty shaped collar and measure 16 inches long, the bonnet is 11 inches round face and all are knitted in 4ply. The underwear below matches this set.

Lavenda 866-12 Girl's Outdoor Set: Great vintage toddler pram set, or outdoor set. This pattern has also a beret so it can be knitted for a boy or girl. There are instructions for  a lovely flared coat with cable yoke, leggings, thumbed mittens and both a beret and bonnet. Knitted in vintage 3ply that should work well in modern 4ply, always work a tension square. Coat to fit 22 inch chest and is 13 inches long.

Lavenda 866-17 boy's Outdoor Set: Great vintage knitting pattern for toddler pram set or outdoor set. L love this one with the chevron lace panels. There are instructions for double breasted coat, beret thumbed mittens and bonnet. To fit 23 inch chest over clothes and the coat is 11 inches long. Try modern 3ply for this one as it is finer knitted Work a tension square and adjust needles if you want to make this in 4ply allow extra wool.

To fit 22 inch chest over underwear. Neat little collar and small cables on front of jersey. The little buttons hold the pants secure whilst crawling around.

There are two designs in this pattern, both knitted in 3ply, the cable one is to fit 21 inch chest and has a V neck and measures 11 inches. The one on the left is to fit 22 inch chest and is a button up and also knitted in modern 3ply. Always work a tension square. If using modern 4ply allow a little extra wool.

Lavenda 866 Underwear: Great vintage ribbed underwear knitting pattern for babies. This little set is in two sizes. Size one: chest up to 18 inches, length 11 inches. Size two: chest 20 inches length 12 inches. Knitted in 4ply. Try size smaller needles for first size set. Included in this pattern are instructions for a pair of lacy socks, plain socks and little slippers for baby birth to 6 months. Foot measures 4.5 inches (adjustable) worked in 3ply.

MR21 Baby Jacket Set: Great vintage knitting pattern for baby jacket set 1940s. This set is knitted in vintage 3ply so try 4ply baby wool and should fit 12-18 months or 24-26 inch chest over clothes. Use modern 3ply and smaller needles for smaller sizes. I used size 11 (3mm) and modern 3ply baby merino and it came out well for a 9 month old baby.

Petite Layette: Great vintage knitting pattern for baby layette. I love these patterns as they had so many garments to chose from and all match. This one is super easy with a plain coat with ribbed yoke for a lovely fit, simple dress with a ribbed yoke. The lace edging is worked afterwards and sewn on so is therefore optional. if you choose not to use the lace edging, begin dress with 10 rows of garter stitch like coat. So this one is super simple to make, give it a try. There are also instructions for vest, pants. bonnet and a helmet.

Poppet Layette: Great vintage baby layette knitting pattern trimmed in blackberry stitch. This one is to fit 6-12 months and is worked 3ply, try a size smaller needles for a little smaller size. There are instructions for a fabulously flared coat, dress, leggings, bonnet and helmet as well as mittens. Easy to make a pair o bootees to match by using any pattern and substitute top pattern with a blackberry stitch from the mittens.
