Angora Juliana 66: Great vintage knitting pattern for baby jackets from the late 1940s. There are instructions for three styles of jacket to fit20-21 inch chest. This angora would knit up in a modern 4ply angora or wool. For smaller size try 3ply baby wool. Always work a tension square.

vintage knitting pattern for boys suit from 1930s Bairnswear 22c: Great vintage knitting pattern for boys suits from 1930s. These little sets are still relevant today and look super sweet on any little boy. The top set shown has smocking and contrast bands, is knitted in 4ply, to fit 24 inch chest. There is also another set with little knickers, roll neck jumper with contrast bands to fit 22 inch chest, as well as the bottom set with straps also to fit 22 inch chest. There are instructions for the jumper on the front to fit 24 inch chest and anther jumper with a v neck to fit 22 inch chest, and finally sweet little v neck with fair isle trim to fit 27 inch chest, all knitted in 4ply. always work a tension square.

vintage girls outdoor set knitting pattern from 1930s with cute hat Bairnswear 96c: Great vintage child's out door set from 1930s. There are three different coat styles with breechettes, beret and hat. The little girl on the front cover is wearing the pretty hat, a double breasted coat with an angora collar to fit 22 inch chest. The single breasted button up coat, beret and breechettes is also to fit 22 inch chest. The one illustrated at the top with stand up collar and shoulder cape is also double breasted and has breechettes and beret to complete the set, to fit 23 inch chest. All knitted in a wool similar to modern 4ply, always work a tension square.

A great accessories set to use up those left over balls of baby wool. These small items also make great birth gifts, of little something for the new baby at Christmas. These little sets were often called day sets or afternoon sets as they were worn by baby for going visiting, a flannel night dress was usually worn for the first part of the day after a bath. This one is from late 1940s showing the fashion change in style of dress ans shorter jacket, there are little bootees to match. The little buttons at the sleeve joins still retains the 1940s essence.

These 1930s pattern were used through out the 1940s as well due to shortage of paper, there were very few reprints until the end of the 1940s. Both wool and paper were still rationed other for forces knitting. These pretty jackets were to fit 17, 18, 20 inch chest and knitted in a yarn similar to modern 4ply. Always work a tension square.

The paw print lace pattern is very easy to work and is a staple through out the 30s and 40s in baby wear.

To fit 18 inch chest, dress 16 inches in length, the coat is 20 inch chest and 9 inches in length. Knitted in a vintage 3ply that would work well in a modern4ply. always work a tension square and use modern 3ply for a smaller size. The dress as three small button on each shoulder to help with dressing.
