Lavenda 563 Bed Jackets: Great vintage knitting pattern for ladies bed jackets from 1940s. There are two as shown in the front cover, the swansdown can be replaced eather with a lace ruffle or knitted border of Angora or even pleated silk/satin ribbon. They are to fit 34-36 inch bust and knitted in a soft fine 4ply. Merino is super for this or if you prefer a syncthetic yarn try a baby soft 3ply. There is also a bed cape, pictured on the right, this is knitted in pink and white on large needles to make it light and warm.

vintage mother and baby bed jacket knitting pattern 1940s MR2-Bed Jackets: Great vintage baby and mother knitting pattern from late 1940s. This pattern is for a Bed jacket for mother and a sweet little one for baby who needs feed in the early hours of the morning keeping both mother and baby warm and cosy. Knitted in a soft wool that should knit well to size in either 3ply or 4ply with an adjustment of needle size. To fit medium on mother and up to 22 inch chest for baby knitted in 3ply, try a size smaller needles or a lovely 2ply for baby a size smaller. I love the sleeve shape on this little jacket.

vintage ladies bedwrap knitting pattern from 1930s

Patons 2669 BedWraps: Great vintage ladies knitting pattern for bed wraps from 1930s. There are two patterns, easy to knit and so cosy. Worked in what was known as knitting floss, used for bed jackets and underwear becaus it was a light twist giving light weiaght warmth. Try modern 4ply as this should give you a similar result. Check your tension. These bed wraps are so easy to make with any design you want. You start with a narrow rib for the cuff and knit untill you reach the other side and finish with another rib for the other cuff. Cast off and sew the ribbed cuffs at the edges and your bed jacke is finished. A great gift.
