Bairnswear 720: Great vintage ladies dressing gown knitting pattern from 1940s. To fit 34-36 inch chest. Knitted in a vintage 2ply wool that is similar to modern 4ply. Always work a tension square. E22-2970 Dressing Robe: Great vintage ladies knitting pattern fro 1940s for a dressing gown. This super robe is knitted in yarn that would be similar to a thick double knitting (tension of 9 sts to 2 inches on size 5mm needles) Always work a tension square. Length is 54 inches, obviously this is adjustable, bust 32-34. Original colour used was red. There are 12 large buttons used on the one shown and shoulder pads are optional for an authentic look. Yarn listed in skeins so not sure if these would be 1oz or 2oz skeins, probably 1oz (30gms) looking at the amount for other dressing gowns, like MTE-DG below.

Fabulous pattern for ladies full length dressing gown in two styles from same pattern, this one with two colours and wide sash either in velvet or satin. To fit bust 32-38 inches and length 54 inches. Knitted in vintage 3ply which is similar to modern 4ply, always work a tension square and change needles if needed. MTE-DG: Fabulous vintage knitting pattern for ladies dressing robe 1930s. The instructions are for size 32-34 and is knitted in thicker wool, so try Aran weight in a tension square as well as double knitting to see which works better, as there is no modern yarn like the KWIKNIT on the market now. Change needles to get the correct tension if needed. Nice simple style, but very retro. Tension is 3.5 stitches to an inch (5cm) on imperial size 3 or 6.5mm.

This pattern has instructions for the blanket shown here, plus another one, both are knitted in vintage baby wool, so try a modern 4ply - they are knitted on large needles. 30 by 22 inches and 21 by 29 inches and the sleeping bag is 27 inches long and up to 26 inches round.
