Angora Bonnets 106: Great vintage baby bonnet knitting pattern from 1920's or earlier. The top one is knitted and the bottom Dutch bonnet is crocheted, but in bunny wool or angora. The yarn used would have been a fine version, so a 3 or 4ply rather than the thicker one more popular today. See internet for suppliers of Angora. Always work a tension square.

VC 12- 117 Lamp Shade: Great very Vintage crochet pattern for a Venetian style lamp shade from 1917. Worked in a light shade and line with a darker one this is absolutely stunning when a light is on underneath - not bad when unlit either. Great for that period touch of elegance. The medallions can be worked and used for bonnets matinee jackets decoration etc. There is a leaf medallion, a ring medallion. Original was made in Old Rose silk on paler silk on a six vane lamp shade - these can still be bought at craft shops or on line.

VC7-10 Pincushion: Great vintage crochet pattern for pin cushion. This interesting accessory for the bedroom or boudoir was essential in Victorian, Edwardian and through the 1920s as hats were always held on with pins and pins were also used to keep some parts of clothing in place - yes really! Size 50 crochet cotton was used with net or silk pleating, lined with batiste or silk. (Batiste is still available and is a fine pure cotton fabric used in the past for christening gowns, underwear and other delicate items.
